🔐 DDWU GDPR Compliance Policy
Effective date: June 23, 2025
(Last reviewed by our data privacy consultant-slash-coach.)
At DDWU.com, we are committed to respecting your privacy, rights, and inbox sanity. We aim to fully comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) — even if we joke about productivity, we take your data protection seriously (well, semi-seriously, but legally seriously).
This page outlines your rights under the GDPR and how we handle your personal information in a transparent, human-readable way.
1. Who We Are
DDWU.com is operated by:
The DDWU Collective™
Email: [email protected]
Registered somewhere between inspiration and burnout
We act as the Data Controller for any personal information you share with us — especially if you live in the European Union (or just like strong privacy laws).
2. What Personal Data We Collect (And Why)
We collect only what we need to:
- Help you navigate the DDWU phases
- Deliver coaching prompts, content, or occasional productivity-induced marketing
- Analyze how people use the site (so we can pretend to iterate)
This may include:
- Name and email address (if you sign up or contact us)
- IP address, device type, and browser info
- Interaction data (clicks, scrolls, phase loops, etc.)
- Feedback or form data you choose to share
3. Lawful Basis for Processing
We process your data based on one of the following legal reasons:
- Consent – When you sign up for emails, newsletters, or quizzes
- Contractual necessity – If you use paid or account-based features
- Legitimate interests – For site performance, analytics, and product improvement
- Legal obligation – When laws say “do it or else”
We do not sell your data, share it recklessly, or use it to send you unsolicited productivity guilt.
4. Your Rights Under GDPR
If you’re in the EU or just GDPR-curious, you have the right to:
- Access – Know what data we have on you
- Correct – Fix any incorrect or outdated info
- Delete – Ask us to remove your data completely
- Restrict – Pause processing if something feels off
- Object – Say “no thanks” to certain uses (like marketing)
- Data Portability – Get your data in a structured, machine-readable format
- Withdraw Consent – Change your mind about cookies, emails, etc.
To exercise any of these rights, just email: [email protected]
We’ll respond within 30 days — unless we’re in a retro loop.
5. Data Storage & Security
We store your data securely using trusted cloud infrastructure providers and encryption when appropriate. We limit access to personal data internally and implement safeguards to prevent loss, abuse, or unauthorized access.
But we’ll be honest: nothing on the internet is 100% safe. Still, we do our best — and don’t cut corners.
6. Data Retention
We retain your data only as long as it’s useful for:
- Providing the service
- Fulfilling legal or contractual obligations
- Maintaining product performance and community trust
When it’s no longer relevant, we delete it responsibly — no dramatic send-off, just clean, silent deletion.
7. International Data Transfers
We’re based in the U.S. but may use tools or services that store data in other countries. If your data crosses borders, we ensure it’s protected by:
- Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs)
- Adequate protection agreements
- Vendor vetting and contractual agreements
We don’t teleport your data to places with sketchy laws. Promise.
8. Third-Party Tools & Processors
Some of your data may pass through third-party services we use for:
- Email delivery
- Website analytics
- Payment processing (if applicable)
- Form submissions or surveys
These services are GDPR-compliant or contractually bound to respect data protection standards. But we still recommend reviewing their policies too.
9. Cookies & Tracking
We use cookies for performance, personalization, and remembering what phase of burnout you’re in. Full cookie details are outlined in our Cookies Policy.
You can accept, reject, or manage your cookie settings through your browser or privacy popups.
10. Questions or Complaints?
We don’t just fake reflection — we welcome feedback. If you have questions, concerns, or want to file a formal complaint, please contact us at:
If you’re unsatisfied with our response and you’re in the EU, you can also complain to your local Data Protection Authority (DPA). They’ll be less funny, but very official.
Thank you for trusting DDWU with your data. We may joke a lot — but when it comes to your rights, we don’t play.
